Application of Plasma Surface Treatment in New Energy Lithium Battery Industry

With the rapid expansion of the global new energy industry, lithium battery manufacturers have put forward higher standards for product stability, safety and yield. Traditional chemical surface treatment processes are gradually unable to meet the environmental protection requirements and high-precision production demands of the lithium battery sector, so low-temperature plasma surface treatment technology has become the mainstream processing solution in this field.

Our vacuum and inline atmospheric plasma equipment is widely used in multiple key working procedures of lithium battery production, including pole piece cleaning, shell bonding pretreatment, insulating film activation and sealing glue surface modification. In the past, many battery manufacturers encountered frequent glue falling, poor sealing and high defective rate after bonding. After plasma surface activation treatment, the surface tension of battery shells and insulating materials can be significantly improved, so that adhesive can be evenly attached to the material surface, effectively reducing the product reject rate from more than 8% to less than 1.5%.

Different from wet chemical cleaning, plasma treatment belongs to dry processing technology, which will not produce industrial wastewater and chemical waste residue. It fully complies with the strict environmental protection inspection standards of European, American and Southeast Asian factories. In addition, our inline plasma equipment can be seamlessly connected with the original automated production line of customers, without large-scale transformation of the workshop layout. The whole processing process only takes several seconds, which will not affect the original production beat, and greatly improves the continuous production capacity of lithium battery enterprises. In recent years, we have cooperated with many well-known new energy enterprises at home and abroad to provide customized plasma treatment production lines for their power battery and energy storage battery projects. Our R&D team continuously optimizes the plasma emission structure and control system according to the material characteristics of new battery materials, to adapt to the iterative upgrading of new energy products. In the future, we will further develop intelligent plasma detection and linkage control functions, helping global lithium battery manufacturers realize green, efficient and high-quality intelligent manufacturing.
